How does iLOQ’s locking system work during possible power outages?

During a possible power outage, iLOQ customers do not need to worry. iLOQ’s digital locking system gets its energy from the key’s pushing motion when the key is inserted into the lock cylinder or the phone key is used. There are no separate power sources in the key or lock cylinder. iLOQ lock cylinders operate normally during a power outage. This ensures movement in the premises during power outages.

Many apartment buildings have an iLOQ Online reader and door module at the front door, which require electricity, but alongside these, there is also an iLOQ lock cylinder that works despite the power outage. An electric lock can be identified by the fact that the door opens with a PIN code or by showing the key to the reader. Very often, during a power outage, access through the front door is ensured with battery backup.
