Audit trails
Audit trails enable administrators to view detailed records of lock events, providing transparency and accountability. This tool is essential for administrators to monitor events such as access granted, access denied, device programmed or relay inputs (relay activated or relay deactivated). Audit trails can be filtered by device, event type, and date range, and detailed event properties can be viewed for deeper investigation.
Search audit trails
- Select Audit Trails from the main menu.
- In the search criteria panel, choose one or more devices to include in your search.
- You can also search for devices by name or select all available devices.
- Set the date range. Use the date picker to select the start and end dates for your search.
- Note: Only data from the past 12 months is available.
- Choose the Event types.Select the event types you want to include in your search.
- Click the Search button.
- If the search takes longer than 10 seconds, you will have the option to cancel it.
- The results are displayed in the table with event details.
- Click on any event to view its properties in a separate window.

Event types
The following types of events are recorded in the system:
- Access granted: The user had valid credentials, so the lock was unlocked.
- Access denied: The user did not have valid credentials, so the lock was not unlocked.
- Device programmed: A programming task (e.g., lock log read) was performed on the locking device.
- Relay input: Lock events triggered by relays. N501/N502 online module relays control electric locks by switching them between locked and unlocked states.
- Relay activated: A door was unlocked.
- Relay deactivated: A door was locked.
Event properties
Open event properties by clicking an event on the audit trails list. The following types of event properties available. Note that the properties available vary depending on the event type.
- Time: Detailed time and date of the event.
Device
- Device: The name of the device in the customer system.
- Product code: The product code of the device.
- Serial number: The serial number of the device.
- Premises: The premises where the device is located.
- Device event identifier: The event’s sequence number stored on the device.
Key
- Access type: The key type used in the event.
- Label (key fob only): The identification label printed on the key fob.
- User: The user to whom the key used in the event is assigned.
- Key event identifier: The event’s sequence number stored on the key.
Event
- Additional information: Shown for device programming task events.
- Reason: If access is denied, the reason will be shown.
