Remote unlocking

The remote unlock feature (known as remote key in the iLOQ App) allows users to remotely unlock entrances equipped with an iLOQ online reader just by pressing a button in the iLOQ App.

This feature is available for relay locks, i.e., locks that are equipped with an online reader and connected to an online door module. A reader can operate almost any electrically powered or triggered access control device, including normal and automatic doors, elevators, turnstiles, gates, barriers, and lockers.

Prerequisites

The remote unlock feature is available when the iLOQ Online solution is in use. Learn more about it from: iLOQ Online solution

To use the remote unlocking feature the following two settings must be enabled:

  • The Can be remotely unlocked setting must be enabled for the relay lock controlling the door. Note: This setting cannot be edited in iLOQ Web, it must be done via iLOQ Manager+.
  • The Unlock remotely feature must be enabled from the permissions tab of the user role.

How to enable remote unlocking for a user role

  1. Select Roles and click the role you want to edit.
  2. The side panel is opened on the right side of the screen.
  3. Select Edit next to Permissions.
  4. Check the Unlock remotely box to enable the remote unlocking feature.
  5. Also check the boxes for all relevant locks to give users permission to remotely unlock them.
  6. When you’re done, select Save.

When the Unlock remotely permission is enabled, all users assigned to the role can use the iLOQ App to remotely unlock the doors configured for the role.
