2.Planning a locking system>>

This is a small dictionary of the terms used in this guide and in Manager. Clicking a keyword opens the article on the keyword in the full user manual. 

  • Person
    1. The term used to describe any keyholder and Manager user
  • User
    1. A person that has access to iLOQ S5 Manager
  • Locking system
    1. The entire system of estates, locks, access rights, keys, persons, and users that are all managed by users.
  • Object
    1. The common name for individual keys, locks, persons, and access rights within a locking system.
  • S5-key
    1. A physical, traditional looking key that can either be pushed into the lock cylinder to open the door physically or held against an iLOQ Online device to open the door through NFC.
  • S50 Phone key
    1. An application for your phone that allows the opening of S50 locks through the phone’s NFC.
  • S50 Key fob
    1. A fob that has the functionality of a phone key but does not require the phone app. Has a battery that requires a recharge approximately once every 5000 opens.
  • Access right
    1. Groups that define both a key’s capability to open locks and which keys the lock accepts. When a key and a lock share an access right, the key opens the lock.
  • Floor plan
    1. A visual map of an area of a locking system, where locks can be placed in the Manager for a better overview.
  • Person role
    1. A profile that consists of several access rights. It can be used to give different people the same access rights based on the needs of their role. For example, a person role “cleaner” can be given to all the cleaners working within the locking system to easily share the access rights to all the places that need cleaning. 
  • Estate
    1. A locking system containing several buildings that require dividing them into estates that are easier to manage.
  • Zone
    1. The biggest locking systems require division into zones that consist of one or more estates. Zones can also be used to give some users large administrative rights in Manager within their respective zones.
  • Time profile
    1. A lock ca be programmed with a time profile to allow access only certain times of week. Only works with locks that have a Real time clock chip (RTC)
  • Calendar control
    1. A special feature of iLOQ Online equipped doors where the doors can be set to open or to require a pin at certain dates and times.
