This operation mode is intended for connecting one or two networked lock cylinders, which control relay output K1.

An example use case is an alarmed door, or a door where a magnet lock is bypassed by a valid key insertion to the lock cylinder.

Opening the cylinder with a valid key, or activating the push button, activates relay output K1 that bypasses the door magnet contact, or opens the magnet lock, for a fixed time of 3 seconds.

In this case:

• The Door Module is not programmed.

• Relay output K1 cannot be calendar-controlled. The idea is to prevent bypassing an alarmed door from iLOQ Manager.

The table below describes the inputs controlling outputs K1 and K2 and whether the outputs are calendar-controllable, and if door status can be connected to the input.

You can connect any potential-free contact information, such as a magnetic door contact, to IN2. In this way, you can request for the door status information through iLOQ Manager and view the event log on the door status. If you have to obtain status information from, for example, both the lock strike plate and the door, you can serial connect the lock and door contacts. In this case, the status indicates whether the door is closed and locked, or not.

You can deploy this installation according to the instructions in Connecting a Remotely Managed Lock Cylinder. However, set the OPTIONS dip switches as follows:

This operation mode is intended for connecting one or two networked lock cylinders, and a reader, if necessary, which control relay output K1.

An example use case is an alarmed door, or a door where a magnet lock is bypassed by a valid key insertion to the lock cylinder.

Opening the cylinder activates relay output K1 that bypasses the door magnet contact, or opens the magnet lock, for 3 seconds by default. This period can be changed through iLOQ Manager.

In this case:

• The Door Module is programmed.

• Relay output K1 cannot be calendar-controlled. The idea is to prevent bypassing an alarmed door from iLOQ Manager.

The table below describes the inputs controlling outputs K1 and K2 and whether the outputs are calendar-controllable, and if door status can be connected to the input.

You can connect any potential-free contact information, such as a magnetic door contact, to IN2. In this way, you can request for the door status information through iLOQ Manager and view the event log on the door status. If you have to obtain status information from, for example, both the lock strike plate and the door, you can serial connect the lock and door contacts. In this case, the status indicates whether the door is closed and locked, or not.

You can deploy this installation by applying the instructions in Controlling an Electric Lock by a Key Reader or RFID Reader, even if you are not planning to connect the reader. However, set the OPTIONS dip switches as follows:

You can make a manual software and firmware update request at any time (see Sending Requests to the Network Module), or define that automatic updates are in use and, if they are, at which time of the day they will be updated. See Editing the Locking System Settings.

When automatic software and firmware updated are in use, the operating system on the Net Bridge and the firmware on the bus devices are automatically downloaded over the Internet. The update takes place in two phases:

1. The operating system and firmware on the Net Bridge are updated first.

   Net Bridge checks if there are software updates on the server, upon startup and on seven days interval.

   If a software update is found, Net Bridge immediately downloads the update. However, the software installation takes place automatically according to the locking system settings, within three hours of the set Update time.

2. The firmware on the bus devices is updated next.

The operating system update on the Net Bridge is indicated by:

• SERVER CONN blinks orange when the software is being downloaded from the server. This may take several minutes.

• SYSTEM STATUS, SERVER CONN and USB leds blink orange in the same time when the software update on the Net Bridge is in progress.

  CAUTION:

  Do not switch off Net Bridge while the software update is in progress. If you interrupt the update process, the operating system will not be able to start again, and the Net Bridge cannot be recovered on the site.

  CAUTION:

  During the update process, Net Bridge and its bus devices are re-booted several times.

  Possibly active calendar controls temporarily stop operating during the re-boots.

The operating system update process ends when the Net Bridge is re-started, and FUNC, SYSTEM STATUS, RS-485 STATUS and SERVER CONN leds are illuminated constant green.

If there are bus devices on the bus that are undergoing a firmware update:

• On the Net Bridge, FUNC and RS-485 STATUS leds blink orange.The firmware update process ends when the FUNC, SYSTEM STATUS, RS-485 STATUS and SERVER CONN leds on the NetBridge are illuminated constant green.
• On the Hot Spot, all three leds are illuminated green, or are illuminated green one by one from top to bottom.
• On the Door Module, DEVICE, BRIDGE and SERVER leds are illuminated green one by one from top to bottom.

This section describes how to manually update bus device firmware.

1. Switch the Net Bridge  switch to STANDBY.
2. Switch the Net Bridge MODE switch to SETUP.
3. Switch the Net Bridge  switch to ON.
4. Wait for one minute and see if the FUNC and RS-485 leds blink orange.
   • If they do, there are bus devices that are undergoing a firmware update. Wait until the FUNC led is switched off and RS-485 led is constantly illuminated green.
   • If they do not, continue from step 5.
5. Switch the Net Bridge MODE switch to OPERATING.
6. An internal test procedure is started.

   Observe the green FUNC led for approximately one minute until the Net Bridge has saved the bus configuration. Check that:

   1. The green FUNC led blinks as many times as there are devices on the main bus.
   2. After a pause, the green FUNC led blinks as many times as there are devices on the reader buses.
   3. After a pause, the green FUNC led blinks as many times as there are lock cylinders connected on Door Modules.

   The procedure ends when constant green FUNC, RS-485 STATUS, SYSTEM STATUS, and SERVER CONN. leds are illuminated.

The Programmer is depicted in the figure below.

The LED indicators are:

• BATT — The battery/communication indicator.

• STATUS — The status indicator.

A successful lock programming results in the light sequence below:

• When you insert the programming cable, the BATT light switches on red.
• After a while, the BATT light turns orange.
• The STATUS light switches on green.

Indicator light color codes are presented in more detail in the figure below:

The buttons are:

• The power button.
• The LOG button for picking audit trail events.

The connectors are:

• A 3.5 mm jack for connecting the lock programming cable.
• A USB connector for connecting the Programmer with the PC.
• A connector for the Token.
• A keyhole for programming keys.

This section describes how to pair the Programmer with the PC over Bluetooth.

1. Connect the Programmer to the PC with the USB cable.
2. Install the drivers as described in Installing iLOQ S10 Programmer.
3. On your PC, add a new Bluetooth device.
4. For pairing, you will need the pairing code, that is, 90630.
5. After successful pairing, the device is shown in Device manager > Ports COM/LPT > Standard Serial over Bluetooth link.

This section describes how to manually install the drivers, if they are not automatically installed through Windows Update.

1. Connect the Programmer to the computer USB port.
2. Open your browser and select www.iloq.com > Products > Software > iLOQ Programmer > Driver.
3. Save the .zip package on your computer.
4. Extract the .zip package on your computer.
5. Open the Windows Device manager.
6. Select Other devices > FT232R USB UART
7. Right-click to select Update driver software.
8. Select Search the driver from the computer.
9. Click Browse and the select the driver that you downloaded and extracted.
10. Click OK.
11. Click Next.
12. Return to Windows Device manager and select USB Serial Converter.
13. Right-click to select Update driver software.
14. Select Search the driver from the computer.
15. Click Browse and the select the driver that you downloaded and extracted.
16. Click OK.
17. Click Next.
18. Return to Windows Device manager. USB Serial Port is listed in the Ports menu.
19. You can now remove the downloaded .zip package and the folder where you extracted the drivers.

If the Programmer firmware must be updated, the S10 Manager software instructs you to do so. The update itself is automatic, but it erases the Programmer memory.

The iLOQ R10S.3 Key Switch has been developed for the easy control of peripheral systems by the iLOQ K10S key. The same iLOQ Key used for opening lock cylinders is used as an identification object, to activate additional applications, such as elevators, parking barriers and alarm systems.

Key Switch R10S.3 controls an electrical device through a potential-free relay output. The relay outputs are activated, when a valid key is inserted into the Key reader. You can format and program the key switch in the iLOQ S10 Manager software.

Key switch R10S.3 consists of two products:

• Programmable Relay card A00.10.
• Key reader A10.56 or A10.42.

The distance between the Key reader and the Relay card can be up to 100 m. In this way, the controlling sensitive relay parts can be installed in a secured place inside the building.

The Key Switch records the audit trail of lock events.

In all configurations, you can use the flush-mounted Key reader A10.42, instead of the surface model Key reader A10.56. In that case, the LED indications will remain unconnected and the Key reader will be connected to the Relay card KEY READER connectors 1-WIRE (red) and GND (black). Key readers can also be connected in parallel.
