Difficulties removing phone keys? All the licenses consumed?

We have noticed that most of the phone key users remove the iLOQ application before the key is returned, thus leaving the keys pending in the system and consuming your precious licenses.

iLOQ's phone key-specific feature, "Automatic Phone Key Deletion," is designed for situations like this!

Typically, you would just Return- and Empty keys that are no longer needed. This works fine if the key is still active, but as the number of keys grows, you will start having more and more keys that, for various reasons, cannot be successfully returned.

Automatic Phone Key Deletion provides extra comfort for removing unused keys and can fully replace the return mechanism as it does the same thing and more.

What does it do

In a nutshell, this feature will send a delete command to the key that is left pending on the server. If the key cannot be reached, it will hide the key in the inactive phone key list so that it does not bother you, and it will free up the phone key license so that you can activate new keys.

You have two options to achieve the same end result:

  1. Automatic delete function for inactive phone keys: This will disable unused keys (i.e., the phone key application has not been opened) after a selected time.

  2. Automatic phone key deletion after the planned return date/expiry date: You can decide when the key is disabled by setting an expiry date for the key. Please note that setting the date will only trigger the functionality and the actual operation is done automatically by the server within the next 24 hours.

How to Get Started

Activate the feature you would like to use in the Locking System Settings.

  • In the case of automatic delete: You don't need to do anything. Keys are removed after the set time, if they are not used at all.
  • In the case of automatic phone key deletion after the planned return date/expiry date: You have a few options on how to use it:
    • Use iLOQ Manager to set the date when creating a new key (this is called the Planned Return Date).
    • Use iLOQ Manager to edit the expiry date for an existing key.
    • Use the API to set the date for new keys or edit existing ones:
      • POST /api/v2/Keys
      • PUT /api/v2/Keys
