- Program a lock that is not formatted > format the lock before programming
- Format a programmed lock > set the lock to the factory state before formatting
- Set a programmed lock to a factory state > reset the lock to formatted state before setting to a factory state
- Program wrong lock > insert the programming cable to the right lock
