Programming keys
To deploy and manage a customer system you will need to create a customer system-specific programming key. A programming key is necessary for performing specific tasks within the customer system, such as:
- Initial programming of devices such as access points and key fobs.
- Clearing access points and key fobs.
- Changing audit trail collection settings of access points.
- Adding additional programming keys.
- Removing keys from the blocklist
A programming key can be attached to several administrators, and one administrator can have several programming keys.
Note: We recommend having a minimum of three programming keys in each customer system. This ensures there are enough programming keys in case of damage or loss. Therefore, programming keys should be always stored safely and securely.
