iLOQ Manager+ basic concepts
Familiarize yourself with the basics of iLOQ Manager+. The concepts and terminology introduced below will help you get started with iLOQ Manager+.
Customer system
A customer-specific system that is comprised of devices, such as different types of locks and keys, along with the software required to secure premises and manage access.
Premises
Premises are virtual building blocks of your customer system. In practice, premises represent different areas that can be secured with locks, such as buildings, corridors, staircases, garages, and apartments.
For administrators, the primary advantage of the premises concept is that it segments the customer system into manageable entities such as buildings or sites, simplifying both management and maintenance.
The premises structure is created using a canvas, and it is a visual representation of your customer system, showing the relationships between different premises. When deploying a new customer system, building the premises structure is the starting point.
Locks
Locks grant or deny access to an area, such as a site or an apartment. A lock could also be found on objects such as medical supply storage cabinets, drawers or lockers. Locks can be either iLOQ S50 locks or relay locks controlled via online modules.
Lock groups
A specified group of locks that have been bundled together. Lock groups make managing sets of locks that are often granted access together easier. Lock groups also optimize memory usage in key fobs by occupying less memory compared to giving access to each lock individually.
Users
Users are individuals who have been added to a customer system. Depending on their role they can be key holders or customer system administrators.
iLOQ ID
iLOQ ID is a unique personal user account that allows users to log in to iLOQ Manager+, iLOQ Web, and the iLOQ App. To use any of these services, the user must create an iLOQ ID.
Roles
iLOQ Manager+ uses role-based access control (RBAC). This role-based system allows you to specify, group, and grant permissions to individuals based on factors such as organizational position, authority, and responsibilities. Role-based access management simplifies and streamlines the key, user and access management process as it allows you to assign users to roles instead of having to individually create rights for each user.
A role needs to be assigned to each user for them to be able to access any premises or perform any actions within iLOQ Manager+. In iLOQ Manager+ there are two types of roles: Administrator roles and User roles.
Administrator roles
An administrator role is required to log in to iLOQ Manager+ , and allows users to perform administrative tasks, such as managing premises structures, keys and locks.
User roles
User roles grant users physical access to premises but do not permit them to perform tasks within iLOQ Manager+.
