Block a key fob

Block a user’s key fob. When a key fob is blocked it cannot be used to access locks. Note that it may take some time for information about the blocked key fob to reach all necessary locks.

  1. Select Users.
  2. Right-click the user whose key fob you want to block.
  3. Select Block key.
  4. Select the key fob you want to block, and confirm.

When a key fob is blocked, the updated blocklist must be distributed to all locks the key fob has access to. This is done through the D2D (device-to-device) network as other users access the locks with their keys. Only once the updated blocklist has been updated to all the relevant locks the key fob is effectively blocked.

It’s important to note that the blocklist update may not reach every lock during normal everyday key usage. For example, if a lock is located in a remote area, the blocklist update may not be delivered to it unless an administrator specifically visits the lock to perform the update.
