Enabling Zones

This section describes how to enable zones on iLOQ Manager.

Proceed as follows.

  1. Select Administration > Edit locking system information.

  2. Select Zone settings in the Views area.
  3. In the Zone functionality drop-down menu, select:
    • Not in use — Zones are not in use.
    • In use, excluding persons and keys — Zones are in use, but not for persons and keys, therefore person and key data is commonly available to all users. This is the recommended way to use zones.
    • In use, including persons and keys — The zone feature also covers persons and keys.

      Note:

Carefully consider, plan and provide internal instructions on how the zones will be used for persons and keys. If you create a too limiting zone structure for persons and keys, the sub-administator may not see the existing key / person to which the access right must be added. This may lead to unwanted situations, where:

      • One person has several keys
      • One person appears several times in the system
  4. In the Default zone for new objects drop-down menu, select the desired zone where new objects, excluding persons and keys, will be assigned to, if the user has access to the zone.
  5. In the Default zone for new keys and persons drop-down menu, select the desired zone where new persons and keys will be assigned to, if the user has access to the zone.
  6. Select Save and close.
  7. A summary screen is shown.
  8. Select OK.
  9. Add the Right to edit zones, Right to browse zones and Show zone functions usage rights for the desired users.
  10. Log out of iLOQ Manager.
  11. Login to iLOQ Manager.
  12. You can now start adding zones.
