Deployment Example: Apartment Building

This section describes how to deploy a locking system for an apartment building in iLOQ Locking System.

In this example, you create a basic locking system for an apartment building.

Proceed as follows.

  1. Add the tokens as instructed in section Adding the First Token and Attaching It to a User.
  2. Add an administrative user as instructed in section Adding Administrative User Credentials.
  3. Add the next tokens as instructed in section Adding Additional Tokens and Attaching them to Users.
  4. Import floor plans as instructed in section Adding Floor Plans.
  5. Add access rights as instructed in section Adding Access Rights.
    Create access rights as follows:
    • Master. Select the Add to new locks as default check box for this access right.
    • Cleaner
    • Maintenance
    • Common areas
  6. Add the locks for common areas, such as the common area laundry room, one by one, in the floor plan.
    For more information on adding locks in the floor plan, see section Adding a New Lock onto the Floor Plan.
  7. Add the apartment locks by using the Add lock functionality. See section Adding a New Lock.

    Use the properties below:

    • Select Create individual access right when asked.

      Use the properties below:

      • Do not use versioning.
      • Make the access right visible by default.
    • At the end of the wizard, the wizard asks for the number of locks to be created. Enter the total number of locks of the apartments.
    • Order locks.
  8. Select the added apartment locks, right-click to select Create keys for locks.

    Use the properties below:

    • Add access rights to the common areas.
    • Create the required number of keys for each lock.
    • Order keys.

  9. Print out the lock chart, and ensure that the lock and key definitions are done according to the locking plan. Have the plan approved by the end customer.
    1. Select Browse locks.
    2. Right-click to select Print > Lock chart.
    3. Select Print from all lines.
    4. A preview is shown.
    5. Print out the chart by clicking the Print button.
      For more information, see section Printing Reports.
  10. Program the keys as instructed in section Programming Keys.
  11. Print out a key hand over list.

    Proceed as follows.

    1. Select the keys that will be handed over.
    2. Right-click to select Print > Key hand over list.
    3. Select Print from selected lines.
    4. A preview is shown.
    5. Print out the list by clicking the Print button.
      For more information, see section Printing Reports.
  12. Format and program the locks as instructed in section Formatting and Programming New Locks in the Lock View.
  13. Print out a lock list for the locksmith.

    Proceed as follows.

    1. Select the locks that will be installed.
    2. Right-click to select Print > Lock list based on view.
    3. Select Print from selected lines
    4. A preview is shown.
    5. Print out the list by clicking the Print button.

  14. Print out the floor plan with the locks on it, for the locksmith, as instructed in section Working with Floor Plans.
