Creating a New Replacement Key

This section describes how to create replacement keys on iLOQ Manager.

This function is used to set a lost key to the blacklist by using a replacement key, instead of using the Programmer. The replacing key will inherit the access right(s), person attachment, and so on, from the lost key.

Note:

Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

Proceed as follows.

  1. Select Basic data > Browse keys.

  2. Select the lost key that must be replaced with a new key.
  3. Right-click the key to select Create replacement key.
The Replace key wizard is opened.
  4. Select Create new replacement key.
  5. The selected key is shown in the key list.
  6. Select Next.
  7. If necessary, rename the key in the The name / description of the key field.
  8. Enter the planned return date in the Planned return date field.
  9. Select Next.
  10. Select how to proceed.

    The options are:

    • Leave key in planning state — Select Leave keys in planning state if you want to leave the key in the planning state, and continue planning the locking system without, for example, programming any physical keys.
    • Order key — Keys must be ordered, before they can be programmed. Ordering creates a programming task for the key, for later programming. For more information, see Keys and Ordering Keys.
    • Order and program key — Select Order and program key to order a programming task, and to program the key at once. For more information, see Programming Keys.
    • Order, program and hand over key — Select Order, program and hand over key to order a programming task, and to program the key, and to hand over the key to a person, at once.
  11. Select Next.
  12. Select whether you want to order the lock programming tasks or transfer them to the Programmer for later programming.
  13. Select Next.
  14. A summary screen is shown.
  15. Follow the wizard to end the procedure.
  16. Use the replacing key in the locks to block the lost key.
