Formatting and Programming New Locks in the Lock View

This section describes how to format and program new locks in iLOQ Manager.

When a new lock cylinder is delivered from the factory, it is in the factory state. Before it can be programmed, it must first be formatted. After this procedure, the lock cylinder can be managed in the deployed locking system only.

This is the usual way of adding new locks. However, you can also add lock through the floor plan. See Adding a New Lock onto the Floor Plan.

Proceed as follows.

  1. Select Basic data > Format state.
  2. Select Format state.
The Adding formatting task to a master token wizard is opened.
  3. Select Add formatting task.
  4. Select the token where you want to add the formatting task.
  5. Select Next.
  6. A summary screen is shown.
  7. Select Ready.
  8. Type in the locking system master password.
  9. Select OK.
The formatting task is added on the token.
  10. A summary screen is shown.
  11. Select Close.
  12. Select Basic data > Browse locks.

  13. Select the locks to be programmed.

The selected lock must be in the Ordered or Transferred to programming state. If the lock is in the In planning state, order the lock first. See Ordering Locks.

  14. Right-click to select Program lock.

The Programming of locks wizard is opened.

  15. Select Program locks.
  16. A list of locks to be programmed is shown.
  17. Select Next.
  18. Select Program locks.
  19. Select Next.
  20. A summary screen is shown.
  21. Select Ready.
  22. A status screen is shown, displaying the lock that is next in the programming queue.
